sungai buloh
the station
Sungai Buloh is the last stop before Kuala Lumpur on the North South Intercity route.
It is also a stop on the slow (Silver) ETS trains from Ipoh to KL.
The KTM Komuter trains also stop here.
The station is located next to a busy highway and surrounded by roadworks. It is very pedestrian unfriendly at present and it is advisable to stay on the train unless you have business in this area.

nearby
Sungai Buloh means Bamboo River and once upon a time this area would have been a tranquil rural district. Over the years, Kuala Lumpur's urban sprawl has more or less absorbed Sungai Buloh into the city's boundaries. Green pockets still remain however, most notably the Leprosy Settlement, or Valley of Hope which was set up in the 1920's to provide leprosy sufferers with a self sufficient community.
Today Sungai Buloh is best known for its garden centres. You can read about these and the leprosy settlement on my Thrifty Traveller blog.
