A large modern station located near the town centre. There is no sign of the old station which was presumably demolished.

As the name suggests, this town is located on the Slim River about midway between Kuala Lumpur and Ipoh, around 100km from each.
The town is best known for a decisive battle which took place here during WWII in which British forces failed to stem the advance of a small Japanese force aided by total air superiority and tanks, effectively ending Britain's hopes of defending Malaya and Singapore.
There is no trace of those events remaining today and there is not a great deal of interest for visitors apart from some temples and shophouses:

Lata Sungai Bil is a waterfall located around 30 minutes drive from town and is popular with locals at weekends. Nearby are some orang asli settlements.
